Salary: The starting salary is £34,808 which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Roster Planning Team as a Roster Planner within the Metropolitan Police.
MO6 is a multi-faceted OCU that not only plans and delivers all policing plans in response to spontaneous and pre-planned events in London, we are also responsible for the delivery of all CARM related work such as yearly roster renewals, shift pattern changes, the movement of staff around the MPS, CARM access, overtime, pay queries and the management of annual leave and rest days.
The Role
The Roster Planning team are responsible for the roster planning of approximately 43,000 officers and staff within Frontline Policing, Specialist Crime, Met Operations and the HQ OCUs. You will deal with the renewal and update of over 16,000 rosters in CARM each year, ensuring rosters comply with police regulations, working time legislation, and operational requirements. As a Roster Planner within the Roster Planning Team, you will play a key role in the delivery of this work.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and update annual rosters in the CARM (Computer Aided Resource Management) system, ensuring accuracy so that policing operations are adequately resourced.
- Forecast and plan for known events and high-demand dates, integrating them into roster schedules to ensure operational resilience.
- Monitor rosters for compliance with Working Time Regulations and police regulations, escalating anomalies and issues where required, to a supervisor to ensure staff welfare and organisational compliance.
- Respond to roster-related enquiries from line managers and Single Points of Contact (SPOCs), providing accurate advice to enable effective local decision-making.
- Test and implement new system functions (CARM and Resource Management systems), contributing to governance and project groups to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Participate in internal MO6 working groups, providing roster planning input and contributing to improvements in practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the roster planning team to balance workloads and maintain consistent service delivery.
- Monitor and respond to team mailbox queries within agreed timeframes, ensuring accurate and timely advice to staff and managers.
