An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Detective Sergeant to join Opal – the serious, organised acquisitive crime (SOAC) National Intelligence team. We are looking for a dynamic, driven and experienced Detective Sergeant to join our team. This is an incredibly exciting time to join us as we expand our capabilities and capacity.
Working to the Detective Inspector, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of police officers and staff in the Opal team and associated Intelligence Units. Providing a National focus of Serious Organised Acquisitive Crime, whilst ensuring organisational standards are upheld. We work extensively with partners from agriculture to business crime in order to make the UK a hostile environment for would-be offenders and prevent crime from occurring.
Experience of the world of intelligence or investigations is essential, as well as being an exceptional leader who can create enthusiasm, drive and influence team performance and motivate a young, diligent team of analysts, researchers and officers to create the very best intelligence products for policing.
The role is home-based with some UK-wide travel. The secondment is initially for 2 years with a fixed end date of March 2028, however there is a possibility of an extension thereafter.
