ASSISTANT CHIEF CONSTABLE – CRIME

(Temporary 6 Months)

Salary £120,489 - £135,756 plus Car Benefits

Applications are invited from senior police officers who are looking for an opportunity to develop to Assistant Chief Constable or substantive at rank and looking for a lateral development on secondment for 6 months.

This is a critical leadership role with responsibility for Crime, ensuring the Constabulary delivers outstanding investigative standards, protects the most vulnerable, and relentlessly pursues offenders. The successful candidate will provide clear direction and leadership to drive performance against key deliverables, including those identified by HMICFRS, and ensure the Constabulary continues to meet and exceed national standards.

As ACC Crime, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Constable to deliver the Constabulary’s vision to make Cheshire even safer for its communities. You will lead teams focused on serious and organised crime, safeguarding, and criminal justice, ensuring that operational policing is effective, efficient, and trusted by the public.

Strategic Priorities for Crime

  • Tackling serious and organised crime, including county lines and complex investigations.
  • Improving investigative standards and outcomes for victims.
  • Strengthening safeguarding and public protection arrangements.
  • Driving innovation in intelligence-led policing and offender management.

Performance and Accountability

  • Embed a culture of performance excellence, ensuring delivery of HMICFRS recommendations and key organisational priorities.
  • Lead with transparency and accountability, using data and evidence to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion operational effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and fairness
