Job Title: PA to Director
Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

The Metropolitan Police are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and organised individual to join the Private Office of a Director within our People & Resources Business Group as a Personal Assistant (PA).
This is a dynamic and fast-paced role at the heart of the organisation, supporting a senior Director in delivering critical strategic and operational priorities. As Personal Assistant, you will be expected to manage a demanding workload with professionalism, agility, and discretion.
You’ll be working in an environment where priorities can shift rapidly, and where your ability to remain calm under pressure, anticipate needs, and respond flexibly is essential. The role requires someone who can confidently juggle multiple tasks, manage competing deadlines, and make sound decisions about what needs attention first.
Your organisational skills will be key to ensuring the Director’s time is used effectively, meetings are well-prepared, and communications are handled with clarity and confidentiality. You’ll be trusted to manage sensitive information, liaise with senior stakeholders, and maintain a high standard of service in everything you do.
Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Metropolitan Police as a Personal Assistant to a Director within our People & Resources Business Group. The role holder will provide comprehensive, confidential, and professional support service to a Director in all aspects concerned with the efficient and successful operation of a Private Office and wider organisation.
The PA role is a ‘front of house’ role and often the initial contact point along with other members of the Private Office. Across all groups the contact is made face-to-face, through email and telephone. The stakeholders include:
- DACs, Commanders and Directors
- Met Executive including Management Board; daily contact, the purpose of which ranges from coordinating of Directorate objectives and priorities in support of business group risks/delivery, diary management and event planning.
- Responding to high-risk queries, complaints and managing expectations.
- Directorate SLT (Senior Leadership Team); daily, enabling delivery of their function’s priorities.
- Other Private Offices; enabling link up between work/actions across directorates.
- Members of the public; how regularly, responding to queries/complaints on behalf of the Chief of Staff/Director
