The Switchboard role provides an effective, efficient and customer focused service to all callers to the GMP. You will receive and action all incoming calls to the centre including internal and external customers, answering in a timely manner to ensure the Contact Centre meets Branch and Force performance targets and to ensure high standards of customer service are met Our offer The contact management team at Greater Manchester Police respond to 2 million calls for help annually. As a part of our team you will demonstrate compassion, resilience, respect, problem solving and teamwork. You will be on the frontline, helping people and responding to some of the most difficult situations. This is a tough role but rewarding - your contribution will make a difference to the people and communities of Greater Manchester and will save lives. You will be responsible for managing digital and telephone contact. You will have the ability to remain calm, work well under pressure and identify and record vital details quickly and accurately. You will have excellent communications skills, the willingness to continually develop your skills and knowledge and a clear victim centred focus. These posts attract 20% shift allowance and 15.45% weekend enhancement The job description is currently under review and although the main aim of the role will not change, there are some proposed minor changes to the duties and responsibilities of the role, including changing the salary from a career grade B/C to a flat grade C, salary band £23,121 - £24,462.
