Applications are invited from substantive Constables who have completed their 2-year probationary period by the closing date of this advert.
Please note, you do not have to be a Detective (PIP accredited) to apply for this post and we welcome applications from Officers who are not an accredited Detective.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terror Policing. As a member of the Intelligence Unit, you will be responsible for the active management of identified nominals within the NE Region in partnership with UKIC in the interests of National Security, to mitigate risk and enrich intelligence. You will ensure inter-departmental liaison and the management of tasking, ensuring the efficient use of resources to provide an effective service throughout the region and, where applicable, nationally.
The ideal candidate will need to have experience in crime/intelligence management, as well as a thorough understanding of the National Intelligence Model. In addition, they will be willing and able to work flexible hours, and to use their own vehicle to travel for business purposes throughout the UK.
It would also be useful if you have knowledge of existing Force/Regional procedures and standards required when planning and instigating operations and previous experience of covert policing methods.
