Please therefore ensure you have completed the ‘Police Staff Internal Secondment Declaration’, and forwarded it as instructed to obtain their sign-off. This step must be completed so the form is submitted as part of the application process, prior to the vacancy’s closing date. Your declaration form should be uploaded alongside your application form. Are you a competent Trainer looking for a new, interesting challenge?

Do you have a passion for making a difference and equipping others with vital first aid skills? If so, we would love to hear from you.

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Police are looking to recruit additional Trainers to join their First Aid Training Team. You don’t necessarily need to already be a qualified trainer — if you have transferable skills such as presenting, coaching, mentoring, or teaching, and a genuine interest in first aid, we want to hear from you. Being first aid trained yourself, or having a passion for helping others learn life-saving skills, will be a strong foundation for success in this role.

In order to succeed, you must be motivated and enthusiastic about all aspects of first aid training. You will support our ongoing programme of first aid and enhanced skills courses for Police Officers and Police Staff across Hampshire & Isle of Wight.

The successful candidates will develop and deliver knowledge and skills training on agreed subject areas, ensuring that participants are trained to a high standard and in line with current regulations, policies and protocols as laid down by the College of Policing, Local Clinical Governance and Health and Safety regulations. Being adaptable to change and possessing a flexible mind-set is essential.

Job Purpose

1. To deliver a range of existing police officer/police staff training courses, ensuring that the learning objectives are understood and demonstrated within a safe learning environment.

2. To assist with the design and delivery of new training programmes to meet identified needs within the workforce.

3. To design and produce clear, concise, and well-presented training support material for use before, during, and after training.

4. To offer appropriate guidance to participants in order to facilitate their personal development and understanding, and to help them adopt suitable responses to work-related performance issues.

5. To liaise and consult with colleagues within the L&D Department, wider operational units/departments, other forces, and partner agencies in order to identify, analyse, and discuss a variety of training solutions for the organisation.

6. To undertake continuous assessment, validation, and evaluation of training programmes, ensuring they are appropriate to the needs of individuals and the organisation, and are of a consistently high standard
