The main responsibility of the role is to manage specific intelligence investigations to identify and assess risks to National Security. The case load covers threats from across the 6 forces of the Eastern Region in a variety of thematics and the post holder is required to liaise with colleagues from across the region. An additional priority responsibility will be supporting the management of up to 1000 previous subjects of National Security interest. This will involve ensuring protocols are in place and legislation is followed to monitor signs of re-engagement, identifying any increase in THR and to trigger escalation of case management in line with national and regional standard operating procedures.

This position is being advertised as a Staff and Officer Role. There is only one position available. It will be offered to the most suitable candidate from either application pool. 

Entry Requirements

Ability to use Force IT and intelligence systems.

Knowledge of the development of sensitive intelligence products and processes, covert policing tactics and the handling of sensitive intelligence, with practical experience desired.

The candidate should be up to date with legislation relating to National Intelligence Model (NIM), Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA), Management of Police Information (MOPI) & data protection.
