Job Title: Life Events Support Manager

Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Kilburn

 

The Role

Working for the Met doesn’t have to mean patrolling the streets. Just as important as our uniformed officers is our 14,000-strong team of professional and support staff working behind the scenes.

We are looking for a Life Events Support Manager to contribute to the delivery of services such as workplace adjustments, dyslexia assessments, parental support programme and job share across the Met. This is a key role in ensuring that our colleagues receive the right support, enabling them to thrive at work.

You will support the day-to-day management of various activities within the Life Events team, liaising with colleagues and external providers, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. You’ll support the Life Events Delivery Managers to deliver various HR services, helping them to provide a consistent, supportive, and legally compliant service.

What you’ll do

  • Support the delivery of workplace adjustments to ensure consistency, accessibility, and timely support.
  • Oversee recovery of funding for Access to Work claims.
  • Support the internal dyslexia assessment service, including monitoring engagement and compliance.
  • Support the delivery of the parental support programme and the roll out of Job Share throughout the Met.
  • Work with stakeholders across HR, Health & Safety, DDaT and external partners to maintain strong relationships and improve service delivery.
  • Promote awareness of the Life Events services through clear communication and engagement activities.
  • Use data and employee feedback to evaluate services and drive continuous improvement.
