Salary:  Scale 5, £29,109 - £31,296 per annum 

  

Hours:  37 hours per week 


Contract: Permanent - ( Please note the starting date for this role is March 2026)

Job Purpose

To deliver an efficient Evidence Management Service to colleagues and 
the public; proactively managing evidential exhibits in line with Force 
Policy and Procedures and reuniting owners with their property at the 
earliest opportunity.

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: 

1. Ensure the safekeeping and appropriate handling of all evidential 
exhibits (which will include seized monies, firearms, drugs, 
contaminated items and biometric samples) in compliance with 
legislation and Force Policy and Procedures.

2. Receive and quality check all items deposited in the Temporary 
Evidence Stores (TES), assessing items individually to decide their 
correct storage. 

3. Maintain the required security protocols for the environment and 
stored items at all times.

4. Receive and resolve enquiries from the Public in person, by 
telephone and email.

5. Facilitate the provision of exhibits to officers / staff when requested.

6. Collect and transport exhibits between locations or to a disposal 
facility in a police vehicle as required.

Essential Qualifications


Educated to QCF Level 2 with passes in Maths and 
English Language or experience to bring post holder to 
comparable level.

A full current driving licence is required.

Essential Experience

 


Previous experience of working in a busy office 
environment including a range of administrative 
procedures with proven organisational skills.

Ability to use own initiative and prioritise work.

Computer literate, experienced in use of Microsoft 
Office.

Good literacy and communication skills.
