Lancashire Constabulary is looking for an ICT Applications Officer to join our team. 

As an ICT Applications Support Officer you will be part of the second line support team, responsible for all critical and strategic ICT software applications throughout the Constabulary.  

The role will require you to use your technical background and knowledge of software applications to support our customers by resolving technical incidents and fulfilling service requests, which, may include building or enhancing existing solutions.

A background of providing software support or development coupled with clear communication skills are a vital requirement for this role; ensuring we provide prompt and effective support and keep our customers updated.

You will assist our staff, third parties and the wider ICT teams by ensuring that relevant information is shared and available, so any disruption to service is minimised.        

At times here will be a requirement to perform on-call duties on an ad hoc basis for systems upgrades and if technical issues are being experienced outside of core hours.

The support team office is covered 08:00-17:00 on an informal rota. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To support the constabularies internal customers by answering queries and resolving incidents and requests where necessary, maintaining compliance with agreed internal and external Service Level Agreements. 
  • Engage with 3rd party suppliers, utilising agreed methods of communication to log and progress incidents through to resolution.
  • Ensure organisation administration such as: access / security / permissions, structures / units, workflow assignments are up to date in line with Constabulary requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant work experience in an IT related role or evidence of other relevant skills that can be transferred into the role.
  • Experience of interpreting complex national rules, regulations, requirements and identifying options / solutions on how to accommodate those within a system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Software Applications, including MS Office-word, Excel, Power Point.

Vetting and Medical:

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
