Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.

We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.

The FMT is a dynamic place to work, with no two days the same and a role to gain skills which are unique to the CT FMT and with continuous professional development opportunities individual to Counter Terrorism Policing.

The appointed candidate must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of forensic disciplines and scene management skills. 

As the Forensic and Digital Investigations Department are working to achieve Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) compliance. Candidates should be prepared to engage with the Quality Management framework and the continuous improvement of required processes and procedures.

The appointed applicant must be able to attend and successfully pass a 3-week Initial FMT residential course with dates TBC (likely May / June 2026). The candidate must be further be prepared to attend, complete and maintain skills from other specialist courses, many of which are listed in the job description, to include: CBRN, DVI and LSO. 

The post holder will be required to participate in an on-call rota working 1 week in 8 on call and must be flexible to working hours and travel, where operational and training requirement dictate.
