NPAS is looking to immediately recruit two Senior Flight Dispatcher and Trainers to join our Operations Centre based in Wakefield.
This is a new role which provides an exciting and challenging opportunity.
As a Senior Flight Despatcher and trainer, you will have responsibility for the delivery and facilitation of all training needs for new starters and existing staff.
Starting Salary £32,247, plus 20% shift allowance and 13% weekend enhancement, as applicable, (pro-rata for job share).
Progression through the pay scales will eventually take the salary to £34,329 plus enhancements.
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) is the national provider of air support to all the Police Forces of England and Wales with West Yorkshire Police being the lead Force.

You will be responsible for the development of existing training programs and the implementation of new training requirements.
You should have experience of delivering training in a customer focussed environment to a broad range of audiences.
You will also be required to perform the role of Acting Flight Duty Officer in their absence.
You will need to deal with challenging customers with empathy and understanding in a fast-paced and safety-critical environment, particularly in the role of Acting Flight Duty Officer.
When not performing the above roles, you will be required to perform the functions of a Flight Dispatcher.
This challenging and exciting opportunity would suit candidates with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of delivering a high standard of training to colleagues of different levels and capabilities.
You will be playing a critical role in the arrest of offenders and ensuring public safety, often at major, high profile events nationally.
The NPAS Operations Centre provides around-the-clock service. NPAS Senior Flight Dispatcher and Trainers are therefore required to work shifts, provide 24/7 cover in accordance with departmental working patterns and occasionally work at other locations as may be reasonably required.
The NPAS Ops Centre work 12-hour shifts (with an occasional 8 hour shift). As a Senior Flight Dispatcher and Trainer, you would usually work two 0700hrs to 1900hrs day shifts followed by two 1900hrs to 0700hrs night shifts, followed by 4 rest days.
There is a requirement for some flexibility to meet organisational needs.
