Witness Care Officer
To be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Victims Code of Practice, providing a victim focused service which takes into account the diverse needs of the public we serve and ensuring the right support is in place at the right time.What You’ll Do
To provide victims and witnesses with a single point of contact, providing regular updates on criminal cases within specified timescales using standard letters, e-mails and via the telephone.
To respond to general enquiries from victims and witnesses regarding the progress of a case and process court warnings for trial.
To effectively manage caseloads / tasks using associated IT systems as directed and liaise with appropriate departments and organisations as required.
To conduct detailed needs assessments for each victim and witness required to attend court, including signposting victims and witnesses to a range of support services / groups and make any appropriate referrals.
