Job Title: Digital Forensic Administrator

Salary: £25,098 pa

Location: Byker, Newcastle

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

The Role

 

Considering a career in Forensics? An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) for candidates wishing to join our team as a Digital Forensic Administrator.

 

Within this role, you will liaise directly with Police officers and staff handling enquiries in relation to the examination of digital devices. You will coordinate daily activities relating to the receipt and storage of exhibits for digital forensic services and facilitate secure storage for examination.


This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within our busy department and contribute to the rewarding and outstanding work we deliver to the wider force.

What will I be doing?

  • Coordinating activities relating to the receipt and storage of exhibits, ensuring compliance requirements are met
  • Administrative duties, ensuring exhibits and evidence are returned.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure visits are carried out securely.
  • Ensuring the reception area is staffed over core hours to process orders and deliveries.
  • Receive and quality check digital exhibits, ensuring they are packaged correctly.
  • Ensuring the security of all digital exhibits in storage.

Please be aware that you may be exposed to police reports, intelligence, and photographic material of a disturbing nature as part of this role.

What do I need?

 

  • Experience in an administrative role.
  •  The ability to plan your own time and use an appointment-based system.
  •  Attention to detail and accuracy to take in and process information.
  •  The ability to work under pressure and remain calm.
  •  Strong team working skills.
  •  Good customer service skills.
  •  Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  •  Confidentiality is extremely important in this role so you will need to demonstrate integrity and professionalism.

Terms of appointment

 

This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period
