Payroll Officer - Police Staff

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic team player to join our Payroll Team within the Finance Department. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in payroll and be part of a team providing an excellent customer focused service to the Force.
You will be responsible for ensuring the payroll system and procedures required to pay employees each month, are carried out accurately and on time; and liaising with HR teams, employees and other outside bodies such as the HM Revenue & Customs, Benefits Agencies and the Home Office as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and systems
- Be fully conversant with in creating gross to net pay calculations
- Understand and able to apply Police Regulations, Police Staff Terms and Conditions and Force Policies
- Participate in completing earning enquiries and national statistics surveys
- Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
- Have a thorough understanding of Inland Revenue legislation in relation to pay and deductions
- Experience and knowledge of computer based payroll systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communicator with a proactive approach
- Be able to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines
