Trauma Manager (TRiM)
To manage Alliance approach to Trauma and provide Trauma support across the Alliance, using the TRiM model. Develop awareness of Trauma support across the Alliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for co-ordinating the recruitment, TRiM workload, training, and development of 16 TRiM Practitioners and 4 TRiM managers across Dorset Police.
- Assess all TRiM referrals received; respond accordingly to the welfare needs of individuals.
- Proactively monitor serious incidents, identifying individuals or groups at risk following a traumatic incident and subsequently offering TRiM support as appropriate.
- Take responsibility for the welfare of trauma suffers by ensuring systems are in place to review their ability to perform their duties. For example, supervisions with managers educated on signs and symptoms of reactions to trauma.
- Plan and deploy TRiM resources to support policing operations, identifying, and taking appropriate actions in response to the developing situation, updating relevant personnel and ensuring the welfare of those involved.
- Evaluating and implementing research and national initiatives on the wider subject of trauma prevention working closely with the Alliance welfare team. Develop a close working relationship with Alliance welfare team.
This list of duties is not restrictive or exhaustive and the postholder may be required to carry out duties from time to time that are either commensurate with/or lower than the grade of the post. In some posts this might include the ad-hoc provision of guidance and informal training of new colleagues.
This position is for 15 hours per week, worked flexibly but Monday to Friday within core hours.
