- S25-308 PND Operator (LC5)
Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a PND Operator within HQ Crime Division based at Hutton Headquarters. This post is temporary until 31/03/2026.
The purpose of this role is to provide the constabularies response in terms of producing and researching all intelligence held on the Police National Database, contributing to all constabulary investigations of which some are time critical. You will also provide a crucial element to many constabulary investigations assisting in the apprehension of offenders, helping bring them to justice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process internal and external requests for intelligence through the interrogation of, and abstraction through, the Police National Database (PND) and other Force intelligence systems.
- Liaise with internal departments and Divisions, other Forces and external agencies in respect of intelligence matters.
- Produce accurate, concise and confidential reports and documents. Deal with restricted and confidential material and intelligence reports appropriately.
- Undertake any clerical and administrative duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the PND Bureau.
- Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
- Understand and assess compliance with Management of Police Information (MoPI), Data Protection Act Principles, Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS) and other relevant legislation.
- Develop your skills and knowledge to enhance the performance of the Force PND Bureau.
- Carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post including providing support to the Intelligence Hub and the wider intelligence arena.

Skills and Experience:
- Experience of maintaining and managing confidential records, paying particular attention to detail and ensuring the accurate recording of data and the correct treatment of confidential information.
- Experience of working effectively as a member of a multifunctional team.
- Experience of producing written reports and presenting summaries of research accurately and in the appropriate format.
Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
