Lancashire Constabulary is looking for to a Vetting Assistant join our team.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To receive and prepare vetting files for processing, including quality assuring forms for completion, errors and omissions, initiating checks as required and recording on the case management system. This to include providing support and guidance to the team’s Apprentices.
  • To liaise confidently with applicants, departments, divisions and external organisations regarding all aspects of the Team’s functions and assist with routine enquiries received in a variety of formats, both internal and external.
  • To accurately create and maintain vetting records, computerised and manual, including ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness are maintained. To archive and weed records as directed.
  • To process enquiries from other forces within the agreed timescales including processing required checks and drafting the responses.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience of working in an administrative/clerical role within a busy office environment 
  • Experience of dealing with a wide variety of customers, handling basic enquiries and providing appropriate advice in a variety of formats
  • Experience of working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality at all times

Vetting and Medical:

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Management Vetting (MV). Please be aware there is a minimum 5 year UK residency requirement for Management vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
