Job Title: Onsite Services, Team Member - North Area East Cluster
Salary: The starting salary is £34,808, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: North Area, Northeast, East Area
Job Purpose:
This role sits within the team providing local support services to frontline policing and as outlined in the ‘A New Met for London’ plans, we are committed to supporting the needs of the communities we serve and delivering this against the priorities for Londoners.
In this role, you will work within one of our service portfolios, Admin, Logistics or Exhibit Management to deliver outstanding service to frontline officers and victims of crime.
You will act as a key point of contact, collaborating with PC’s, Sergeants and Inspectors to ensure our services meet their requirements.
The below outlines the main responsibilities in each of the service areas, but as our business evolves your responsibilities will grow/change with this.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
Administration:
- Ad-hoc administrative tasks such as post management, circulating papers/information, printing/photocopying.
- Managing recognition across the Borough as well as MO7 and MO19 commands by compiling and organising Quality Service Report’s and awarding recognition through letters and award ceremonies.
- Planning a Commendation Ceremony by liaising with internal/external companies to secure venues, catering and stage décor in line with the B/OCU Commander’s requests. (planning, preparing, event management)
- Completing minutes for senior leadership team meetings, local resource planning meetings, Attendance Management, health and safety meetings as well as confidential Gold Group meetings. (minute taking)
- Updating permissions for mail groups and shared drive access requests through system administration.
- Managing day to day enquiries from customers through a flag-system mailbox to ensure service and support is provided. (mailbox management)
- Maintaining record management of case files and non-charged files through the e-Archive system. This includes managing the archives and the level of case files held locally on site by adhering to corporate retention policies.
- Ordering goods and services through the PSOP system ensuring the correct cost centres are used. This is inclusive of raising payments for invoices for external/internal services such as courses, venue hire and specialist equipment.
- Inventory management
Exhibit management:
- Ability to oversee all aspects of exhibit planning.
- Knowledge of coordinating spaces and resources for exhibit management.
- Inventory management
- Understanding of spatial planning, ensuring engagement and accessibility.
- Problem solving skills, ability to quickly resolve unforeseen issues.
- Good use of IT for exhibit management packages.
Logistics
- Supply chain management - Understanding of procurement
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, workflow to ensure logistics chain is aligned.
- Efficient coordination in regards to deliveries and logistic process.
- Inventory management
- Problem solving skills in delays, shortages and inventory.
- Controlling cost by optimizing costs, finding efficiencies and reducing waste in the supply chain.
- Adaptability and flexible in dealing with customer demands and external factors.
Generic:

The duties and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carryout out any other duties and deliver any other services across our portfolio of work as reasonably required.
Although assigned to one portfolio, you will be expected to support and cover other portfolios when required and perform team member duties.
Some manual work is involved, requiring a good level of physical fitness and agility.
