Salary: The starting salary is £34,808, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
Counter Terrorism Policing Firearms Threat Centre (CTPFTC) is currently advertising one Band E Core desk administrator vacancy. CTPFTC mission is to prevent a Terrorist Firearms attack in the UK by disrupting extremist access to firearms. Working with police and partners to identify unrealised Counter Terrorism/Organised Crime firearms touchpoints and to suppress the supply of illegal firearms entering and throughout the UK.
The primary responsibility of the Core Desk is to receive, triage, process and disseminate information/intelligence relating to firearm nominals. We are the point of entry for all information/intelligence into the CTPFTC from police and other law enforcement partners.
The role holder will provide support to the administration of the core desk function. Execute basic functionality with inboxes, messaging, data processing and quality assurance under the guidance of the desk sergeant.
Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- Quality assurance of all received information/ intelligence, Including ensuring the intelligence/information meets CTPFTC standards for process and all intelligence handling standards are met
- Coordination of the NSN / NCIA and aware mailboxes
- Basic administration functions of the core desk across secret and non-secret systems
- Provide support to desk sergeant and constable
- Data entry into CTPFTC databases
- NSN data transfer functions
- NCIA maintaining NCIA administrative functions
- Weekly OB – Completion/circulation
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Applications from candidates with close connections to certain countries may take considerably longer to process, or in some cases result in a withdrawal of an offer of employment.
