Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Transport and Logistics to lead our joint Transport and Logistics Team across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused services that directly support frontline operations.
You will take full ownership of the end-to-end transport and logistics provision—from strategy development and operational planning to delivering expert advice and service excellence. A key focus will be the creation and promotion of an annual delivery plan.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proven leader with deep expertise in transport and/or logistics management, capable of delivering strategic change and operational excellence. You’ll bring:
- Significant experience leading transport/logistics projects and teams in complex environments
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to translate complexity into practical solutions
- Ideally, you will either hold the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) (Transport) and/or be a chartered member of the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), or a similar professional body
- Ten years of relevant experience in the field
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A track record of driving service improvement, innovation, and inclusivity
- Commercial acumen and budget management expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant ICT systems
