Familiarisation Event - 3rd October 2026 - Armed Response Vehicle Officers – Initial Firearms Course April 2026
North Yorkshire Police are hosting a Familiarisation Event - for Constables interested in joining NYP as trainee Armed Response Vehicle Officers to join our April 2026 Initial Firearms Course.
This event is open for internal NYP Constables to find out more about the role within our Firearms Support Unit.
N.B: To attend you must have passed your probation by the closing date of the Advert which will be 5th November 2025.
A Benchmark fitness session will be available to you to take part in and offer support and guidance on how to work towards successfully passing the national Firearms fitness test.
You will have the opportunity to meet some of our team. view our uniform and full operational kit, look at weapons and be shown the Armed Response vehicles. Please come ready to ask questions and be inquisitive too!
When - 08:30-12.00 hours - Friday 3rd October 2025
Location - Tadcaster Police Station / Tadcaster Leisure Centre (Fitness Test)
Timings
08:30am - Arrival registration
09:00- 09:30 - Benchmark Fitness Session - Arrive in the Foyer at the leisure centre dressed ready to start.
09:30-10:00 change / drink, then return to Tadcaster Police station.
10:00 - 12:00 - Familiarisation presentation, Q&A and meet the team and view kit and vehicles.
Registration closes on Tuesday 30th September 2025 at 23:59 hours.
