Applications are sought for the position of PNC Names Researcher and Analyst based at Cumbria Police HQ, Penrith.
The successful applicants will need to evidence being an analytical person and demonstrate effective communication when dealing internal and external agencies.
The position is on a flexible work pattern based at HQ in Penrith but with the opportunity to work from home.
Police National Computer (PNC) is a national database of information available to all police forces, law enforcement agencies and other specified bodies throughout the UK. It is used for facilitating investigations and sharing information of both national and local significance.
As a member of the PNC records Bureau, under the supervision of the PNC Manager/PNC Supervisor, you will maintain, quality assure and update the PNC for the Force, ensuring accurate and effective usage. Research the internal custody systems, creating manual arrest summons reports on PNC. Research and update PNC by receiving and translating complex information and court results provided by the Criminal Justice Units, Magistrates and Crown courts. Responsible for the research and update of custody bail management and court systems for all pre-court remands and court bail conditions received from Magistrate and Crown courts. Research and request all relevant missing information to ensure that PNC is updated in and accurate and timely manner. Responding to enquiries made by internal/external forces and agency personnel ensuring that information provided is accurate, timely, legislation compliant and only given to verified and authorise sources.
The new Law Enforcement Data Service (LEDS) will be a highly scalable modern cloud-based data service that will enable the future retirement of the PNC. PNC has been used by law enforcement organisations across the UK and other non-law enforcement agencies since the 1970s. Training modules will be completed once in post in relation to the switch over from PNC to LEDS
Salary £24,258 - £28,653 per annum
