- S25-312 Intelligence Analyst - FMIT (LC8)
Lancashire Constabulary is looking for an Intelligence Analyst to join our dedicated Force Major Investigation Team. The role will initially be aligned to Operation Bermuda and based at Indemnity House, Blackpool, but with opportunities for agile working. There will also be opportunities to support other major investigations across the county.
Operation Bermuda is the corporate investigation into the death and ill-treatment / neglect of multiple patients on the Stroke Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
The purpose of this job is to prepare strategic, tactical, intelligence and evidential products to aid managerial, operational and investigative decision-making by utilising a range of analytical techniques. To be involved in the problem-solving process, applying a variety of research methods and analytical techniques to develop knowledge and understanding. To produce documents to the requisite standard of first submission and present these as a witness in judicial proceedings.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to fulfil a crucial role as part of a dedicated investigation team. You will be required to work within the Major Incident Room, drawing together data from local and national sources for evidential review. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with statisticians and analysts from the private sector and leading universities, and to collaborate with police analysts engaged on other large-scale investigations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake complex strategic and operational analysis drawing inferences, conclusions and recommendations.
- Develop knowledge & intelligence in respect of issues and problems, patterns & trends, linking offences, drawing conclusions and inferences and making recommendations to support a diverse range of operational activity
- Research, apply for, manage and maintain RIPA authorities, telecommunications data relevant to major investigations in accordance with current legislation and policies (i.e., RIPA, PACE, Human Rights PII) and time limits.
- Be fully conversant in the investigative/financial implications of applications for telecommunications data and be able to advise the Senior Investigating Officer accordingly

Skills and Experience:
- Experience of analysing information to identify relationships, patterns and trends
- Experience of the analysis and presentation of statistical data; including writing complex reports and presenting analytical content
- Demonstrate application of lateral and creative thinking in the analysis and presentation of data/information
- Experience of writing reports
Vetting and Medical:
