Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Development Analyst to join our team.

As a Development Analyst, you’ll work closely with internal departments to design and build management information reports and dashboards that meet both operational and strategic needs. You’ll help shape how data is used across the organisation—supporting oversight, self-service, and continuous improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate, timely analytics that support both internal decision-making and external regulatory compliance.

What you'll be doing

  •  Delivering descriptive and diagnostic analytics to internal teams and regulatory bodies
  • Designing and building reports and dashboards tailored to customer and organisational needs
  • Supporting predictive modelling and data analysis to drive service improvements
  • Fulfilling statutory reporting obligations to bodies such as the Home Office and HMICFRS
  • Responding to Freedom of Information requests and presenting data at performance conferences and internal boards
  • Ensuring all data outputs meet GDPR and data protection standards
  • Advising on management information to support organisational change and decision-making

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience using SQL or similar system
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data cleansing, chart creation, formulas)
  • Experience with Power BI dashboards would be advantageous
  • A solid understanding of data analytics and reporting
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive, self-motivated approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Confidence in report writing, statistical analysis, and meeting deadlines
  • A willingness to learn and grow your data literacy as part of a career progression plan

o   RV Level Vetting – minimum 3 years UK residency
