Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months
The Recruitment Training/Capability Manager is a key member of the promotions team. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering interview skills and assessor training programmes and assessing the training needs of promotions assessors (officers and staff). This is a key business function that provides considered, tailored, consistent and well-rounded bespoke training to equip assessors with all the necessary skills to be competent assessors across promotion assessment processes.
They will offer specialist expertise to deliver high quality promotion processes which includes the creation of training materials, delivering workshops, undertaking quality assurance activity at assessment centres, and evaluating the outcomes of training sessions. They will be deployed and assigned by the Organisational Psychologist. Areas of focus would include:
- Design, development, and delivery of high-quality training programmes to embed assessment and selection processes across the police officer promotion processes to enhance capability and performance.
- Working alongside the organisational psychologists and outsourced partners, providing specialist input for promotion assessor training into assessor training for each of the police officer processes.
- Undertake quality assurance activity across all key assessment stages.
- Project manage the design and delivery of the Mets police officer promotion assessor training and play a key role in continuous improvement activity.
