Role Overview:

As an Intelligence Evaluator, you will play a key role in supporting operational policing by evaluating and processing intelligence received from a wide range of sources. Your work will help ensure that intelligence is accurate, relevant, and actionable—contributing directly to efforts to tackle the most significant threats to the safety of Merseyside communities.

Key Responsibilities (see JDQ for full list):

Review and validate incoming intelligence to ensure it is clear, accurate, and relevant.

Conduct basic research using police systems to verify information.

Ensure all entities (people, locations, vehicles, etc.) are correctly linked and searchable within intelligence systems.

Prioritise and disseminate intelligence to the appropriate teams or individuals for timely operational or strategic action.

Check spelling, grammar, and clarity to maintain high standards of written intelligence.

To do this role you should:

Have strong attention to detail, able to accurately input, evaluate, and disseminate intelligence reports from a variety of internal and external sources, applying the correct priority, grading, sanitisation, and linking to ensure clarity and usability.

Be confident in making informed decisions about where intelligence should be directed, ensuring it reaches the right person or team for effective action, while also highlighting any risks or officer safety concerns.

Be capable of working independently to process intelligence quickly and accurately, ensuring it is available on the system as soon as possible.

Be willing to identify and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in incoming intelligence by conducting appropriate research and documenting your actions clearly.

Be comfortable providing constructive feedback and guidance to officers or partner agencies on intelligence submissions, including advice on source reliability, grading, and risk management.

Be able to handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

A note on using Artificial Intelligence

- AI tools can be great for research and refining ideas, but we want to learn about you. If you use AI or Chatbots to help you with your application, keep these points in mind:

- AI can support research, structuring and refining your writing, but your application must reflect your real skills and experience.

- Spell-checking and condensing word counts are great ways to use AI effectively.

- Do not copy and paste AI-generated answers. This will not help you stand out in a positive way; remember we want to hear about your skills and experience.

- Providing false or insincere examples goes against our core values of honesty and integrity and may lead to your application being withdrawn or termination of your

employment.
