Workforce Planning Analyst
Location: Wakefield
One full-time, permanent position (37 hours a week)
£42,897.00 - £46,503.00 per annum
West Yorkshire Police is seeking a highly analytical and detail-focused Workforce Planning Analyst to join the Workforce Planning & Resourcing team within the People Directorate. This role is central to supporting strategic workforce planning through data-driven insights, modelling, and forecasting.
As a Workforce Planning Analyst, you will:
•Maintain and develop operational workforce plans aligned with strategic objectives.
•Deliver accurate workforce analytics, modelling, and reporting to inform decision-making.
•Analyse skills profiles and trends to support future training and development planning.
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify resourcing gaps and support recruitment and budget planning.
•Prepare short- and long-term forecasting reports to support operational and strategic planning.
•Ensure data integrity across workforce systems and provide clear interpretation of findings.
•Contribute to continuous improvement in workforce planning methodologies and practices.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
•Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
•Advanced analytical and modelling capabilities, including statistical reporting.
•Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros) and workforce management systems.
•Ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights.
•Experience in workforce planning or a related analytical role.
•Strong communication and influencing skills.
•Knowledge of database systems and data interrogation techniques.
•Willingness and ability to travel across the Force area and nationally as required.
