People Partner
Four full-time permanent positions (37 hours a week)
Leeds/Bradford
POC - £46,503.00- £50,088.00 per annum
West Yorkshire Police is creating a new team of proactive and collaborative People Partners to join the People Directorate. These key roles will support designated districts and departments by delivering expert advice across the full breadth of the People agenda, driving improvement, and enabling effective people management.
As People Partner, you will:
Embed a people partnering model that supports leaders across the employee lifecycle.
Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, contributing to strategic direction and decision-making.
Represent the People Directorate locally, identifying opportunities for service improvement.
Support the development and implementation of local People, DEI, Wellbeing, and staff survey plans.
Collaborate with Employee Relations Partners to address cultural and employment issues.
Use people data and insights to inform workforce planning and talent strategies.
Lead specific people projects and champion change initiatives across the organisation.
Maintain strong relationships with Trade Unions and Staff Associations, attending key meetings.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Chartered Membership of the CIPD (Level 7) or commitment to achieve.
Experience leading in a large, complex organisation, delivering through influence and collaboration.
In-depth knowledge of HR strategies, policies, and employment law.
Proven ability to identify challenges and apply people strategies to drive improvement.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Highly developed leadership, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
Experience in consultancy skills such as facilitation, data analysis, and organisational insight.
A track record of leading high-profile programmes, including consultation with Trade Unions and senior leaders.
Excellent communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel across the Force area and nationally as required.
