The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing team. As Board and Committee Secretary you’ll support the team to provide a professional Executive support service to CNC’s Senior Executive and Police Authority Board Members. 

You will have experience of taking professional board level minutes with excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver to tight timescales and deadlines. You'll have oversight and responsibility of ensuring that actions are recorded, distributed, and updated for future meetings and in a timely manner. With excellent planning abilities and an understanding and knowledge of good governance, you will support the process of corporate meeting planning, agenda setting and development of an annual schedule of forward business to support the meetings.

To be successful in the role you'll be a confident user of Microsoft Office packages including MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels. You should be able to organise your own workload to meet deadlines and prioritise as required.

Your role will be to help facilitate and co-ordinate the flow of corporate business requirements and delivery of key strategic business decisions and outcomes by delivering a range of complex executive support functions at the highest level for the CNC and the Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA). You will work closely with the CNPA Board and the Board and Committee Manager to initiate, coordinate, and plan meeting dates across the year and ensure that the administration of key, strategic level business and governance meetings are coordinated and professionally delivered. Organisation and interpersonal skills are key in this role. You will take ownership for ensuring that the appropriate records (Minutes, Reports, Policies, Audit Logs, Correspondence etc.) of the Police Authority and Executive are maintained as required by law and made available as requested.

This role has been assessed as suitable for remote working (UK only) but will require travel to our sites across England and Scotland.
