Job Title: Leadership Academy Delivery Manager
Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Various training locations across MPS, Including Peel Centre, Sidcup, Marlowe House and the University of London.
Working in the Met’s Leadership Academy team, the role holder will be responsible for supporting and managing the delivery of the on promotion and CPD courses and training for our leaders. This includes overseeing the effective delivery of our, core delivery team, pool of internal facilitators and providing a point of escalation for any concerns from participants on the programmes.
On a daily basis, they will also maintain and support the SLT in the managing of the Leadership Academy budget, procurement of services and project roadmap.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Line management for Band D & E administration support team.
- Interim line management for Inspectors/Band C facilitators on attachment, including managing their scheduling, performance management, welfare, and on and off boarding from the programme team
- Manage procurement and tender processes (Competefor, Coupa) on behalf of the Leadership Academy
- Manage financial spend and produce budgetary information on behalf of the Leadership Academy
- Manage the delivery rota, including scheduling of facilitators, senior leaders, community members, SMEs (where required) and third party providers (where required)
- Manage the running of courses, ensuring rooms are scheduled and uploaded onto the LMS, participants are signing up and communicated with, and appropriate reporting is given to senior teams around enrolment
- Support the programmes through the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Liaise and work in collaboration with the internal Commercial team
- Escalate risks and issues where appropriate
- Support the continuous improvement of course design by linking in with the team and SMEs and Heads of Profession across the Met to ensure our programmes continue to improve, learning from feedback and adapting to organisational change
- Work with national leadership development providers (e.g. College of Policing and coaching and mentoring networks) to assure and maximise the benefit of any offers suitable for leaders at the Met
- Stay up to date with market trends and good practice in leadership development, in order to incorporate any suitable learnings into the organisation
As part of the Leadership Academy we are seeking an experienced member of police staff who can demonstrate the following experience and knowledge at Band C level.
- Experience of having worked across a range of environments and teams in the MPS
- Experience working in a learning and development department and knowledge of designing and delivering training
- Experience of managing and reporting on finance
- Experience of managing project plans
- Influencing and working with stakeholders
- Managing budgets
- Identifying and managing risks, including escalation where necessary
- Good IT skills including practical knowledge of Aware, PSOP, iProcurement, MS Excel, and Power point, Word
