Job Title: CONNECT Data Quality Assistant
Salary: The starting salary is £34,808, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: The primary Met Location for this role is Newlands Park. Travel across the Met Estate, to attend meetings as required by the business, is expected.

Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT)
The mission of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) is to provide the Met with information (and specifically data), communications and technology to help frontline officers and Met staff do their jobs more efficiently, in order to deliver the New Met for London plan. In other words, DDaT is about “passionately delivering trusted technology for precise data driven policing”.
As well as keeping up to speed with developments in technology and making recommendations for new equipment and systems that will help modernise policing, DDaT also comprises the Data Office which:
- Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
- Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
- Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
- Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver outcomes to meet the New Met for London. The role holder will join CONNECT Data Quality Team working as a Data Quality Assistant. CONNECT is the METs new operational policing system which brings information we capture into a single, integrated platform, helping us to use our data more effectively. CONNECT will help us to improve the quality of our data, reduce duplication and the need to enter data into systems multiple times.
The Data Quality Assistant will ensure that the data entered into CONNECT is done so correctly and that CONNECT provides the rich information it is designed to deliver. Whilst specialist training will be provided, the ideal candidate will have strong, analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Knowledge or experience of using CONNECT would be advantageous.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Review duplicate data for merging by conducting predefined searches to identify incorrectly linked and poor quality CONNECT data.
- Work proactively as part of a team to meet deadlines as well as working independently.
- Engage with Connect users, provide support and apply resolution for linked data issues.
- Manage data issues identified by applying broader engagement where required to achieve a resolution.
- Build knowledge about CONNECT as a system and develop an expert understanding on how the system works.
- Assist new users adapt to the new system and solve issues raised in a timely manner.
- Other ad hoc tasks to support the Connect Data Quality Team and the wider Connect team.

Vetting Clearance
For this role the Vetting Clearance is Force Clearance Level, Management Vetting (MV), and National Security Vetting (NSV) Level, Security Check (SC).
