OPCC Data Manager

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Bedfordshire has an exciting opportunity to join the team as our Data Manager.

The Data Manager’s core role is to lead, coordinate and support the work of the Data Analyst to establish and refresh (when necessary) the data collection parameters for the PCC.

They will collect and evaluate data from a variety of sources to identify patterns, trends, series and advise the PCC on how to use the data effectively.

The Data Manager will provide support to the PCC, including partners and external agencies (where relevant data sharing agreements are in place), in the analysis of outcomes by preparing reports, issuing guidance and making recommendations.

Through analysing data from external organisations and the application of analytical methodology the Data Manager will draw inferences, conclusions and recommendations to brief the Mission Board leads and senior team.

The PCC’s aim is to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service within their police force area. They are elected by the public to hold Chief Constables and the force to account, making the police answerable to the communities they serve.

PCC’s ensure community needs are met as effectively as possible and are improving local relationships through building confidence and restoring trust. They work in partnership across a range of agencies at local and national level to ensure there is a unified approach to preventing and reducing crime.

The role of the OPCC is to support the statutory functions of a PCC, with a key focus on supporting delivery against the local Police and Crime Plan.

The OPCC has staff delivering against core functions including policy and performance, governance and compliance, commissioning, communication and engagement, complaints handling, budget setting and finance, restorative justice and partnership working.
