The Opportunity: ITIL Manager 

Salary: Up to £52,767.40: - (£48,254.40 basic salary per annum with yearly increments based on performance plus a non-contractual/non pensionable Skills for the Information Age supplement of up to £4,513 amount awarded either 0%.50% or 100% based on validation of self-assessment).

Contract Type: Permanent.

Location: To be based at one of our main hubs (London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds or Glasgow) London Allowance of £4,427.65 payable to London based candidates only.

Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available.

Hours: This is full-time role (37 hours per week) 

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for an ITIL Manager to join the Technology Team. As an ITIL Manager with BTP, you will be responsible for promoting IT Service Management best practice across the full cycle IT services, ensuring alignment to ITIL adopted practices as appropriate, exploiting any service support opportunities and supporting the implementation of improvements through business change, process development, and upskilling.

Main Responsibilities

  • To analyse business requirements and develops solutions to enhance IT service management processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs and goals. 
  • Monitors and reports on service performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and clearly document how the business is currently operating through engagement and validation with business teams. 
  • Partner with the business to identify and design solutions to meet the organisation's operational goals.
  • Identify requirements and propose solutions for improving processes and systems, reducing their costs and enhancing their sustainability, including the quantification of potential business benefits.
  •  Essential Skills: 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualifications or significant business experience in IT Service Management, for example ITIL qualification or Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience of Change Management, Continual Service Improvement, Incident Management and Problem Management.
  • Experience of developing processes within IT Service Management.
  • Experience of mentoring and upskilling IT Service Management professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL best practices.
  • A working understanding of business analysis and project management methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of a range of IT toolsets.
  • Understanding of applying Target Operating Model methodology.
