Staff - Economic Crime Unit Analyst

Temporary 2 Years, Based in Penrith 

.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced analyst within our force Economic Crime Unit. This role will be based in Penrith, but with flexibility for working at other locations around the force area.

.

.

The successful candidate would work alongside our Economic Crime Team and Serious and Organised Crime Team. The role requires research, analysis and assimilation of large volumes of complex data to prepare and produce concise analytical reports. The role would also require assistance with court presentations for complex cases.

.

Any candidate must be able to evidence:

.

· Ability to research, analyse, and assimilate large volumes of complex data and prepare and produce concise analytical reports.


· Ability to develop and test inferences and hypotheses and to draw evidence based conclusions and make recommendations, in support of decision making.

· Good communication skills with the ability to present information and provide recommendations to various stakeholders to ensure understanding and support decision making.


· Skilled in the use of IT Packages, systems and/or databases involved in analysis and data manipulation – must be an experienced user of Excel
· Ability to appropriately prioritise and plan own work, managing competing demands


· Ability to proactively develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders

Essential skills

.

· Educated to Level 6 (degree level) OR demonstrable experience in the field of analysis

.
· Must hold or be willing to undertake College of Policing Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) Certification

.
· Presentation Skills

.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of policing and relevant policing legislation, police systems and experience in use of intelligence/analysis software (e.g., GIS, i2, Chorus).

.

Any candidate who passes the initial sift for this role, would be expected to complete a skills assessment prior to interview.
