Are you passionate about animal care and looking for a rewarding role supporting frontline policing? Nottinghamshire Police is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Kennel Person to join our professional team responsible for the care and welfare of our working police dogs.

This is a physically demanding role that requires resilience, initiative, and the ability to work independently. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining the health, hygiene, and wellbeing of our canine colleagues.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily care and husbandry of police dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kennel areas
  • Monitoring dog health and reporting concerns to handlers or veterinary staff
  • Supporting operational readiness of the Dog Section

  • A genuine interest in animal welfare
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve
  • Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor, manual work
  • Flexible and reliable, with a strong team ethic

Application Process

The selection process will include:

  • Written application
  • Practical exercise
  • Interview

The interview and practical exercise will take place at Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters on Friday 12th and Friday 19th September 2025 – applicants must be available for one of these dates
