Job Title: Service Delivery Manager Central West

Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £ 44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652.  Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Operational Support Services delivers large-scale services across the organisation, providing vehicles, boats, uniforms, catering, administration, records management and travel assistance to officers, as well as preserving the Met’s heritage by managing both the Crime Museum and Heritage Centre. Operational Support Services also provide immediate assistance to officers in their roles by providing interpreters, recovering vehicles, managing and handling criminal exhibits as well as administering the records deletion process for members of the public Operational Support Services we provide a range of services to the Met including Fleet Services, Vehicle Recovery, Catering, Travel, Cultural Services, Uniform, Exhibit and Record Management as well as local support to officers. Ultimately OSS provide crucial services so that front line staff feel equipped with the resources they need to keep London safe. Whilst these services vary in nature, OSS aims to consistently deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions that will improve the performance and efficiency of the services we offer. Job Purpose: This role focuses on driving and delivering across localised services in a geographical area, working closely with senior police staff to achieve operational excellence. The post holder will, lead and manage service teams seeking to build excellent relationships with customers, stakeholders, staff and peers whilst delivering against agreed metrics.

Job Purpose: 

  • To deliver and provide a proactive, efficient support to wider customer groups across Frontline Policing and Met Operations ensuring that all requirements are delivered.  
  • Provide a link between our customer groups and other OSS service providers to ensure that local operational demand can be accommodated into appropriate services.  
  • Adherence to OSS Performance Framework and driving local team performance in accordance with KPIs  
  • Co-ordinate and manage resources to ensure demand is met.  
  • Manage Operations to deliver services to the MPS that meet the Standards set out in the Service Level Definition Document which meets or exceeds expectations  
  • To continually improve Service Performance through day to day problem solving, leading lean continuous improvement projects and participating in IT enabled transformation projects  
  • Expectation of travel across all sites within primary location.   

Key Results Areas:

  • For their respective team and services: leads the transition to end service process, driving continuous improvement through enhanced cost effectiveness and the pursuit of service excellence to attain and maintain competitive levels of performance  
  • Responsible for the Service, Operational and Financial Performance of the Service Team(s) they lead.  
  • Manages the effective operation of the Team(s) to deliver Service Level Agreements and to achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators  
  • Jointly responsible for the creation of a high performance culture in the Shared Support Service Operation  
  • Manages the development and motivation of their staff through consistent initiatives and through own actions and with reference to functional/ professional standards  
  • Delivers ongoing efficiency improvement through innovative operational developments, process re-engineering and technology enhancement  
  • Leads and drives service enhancements from a customer perspective which will deliver Service performance improvement  
  • Ensures systems of monitoring and control are delivering effective performance and compliance of the Service and to take corrective action where improvements are necessary to meet service, financial performance, control and risk management standards as measured against competitive benchmarks.  
  • To directly and indirectly support the operational customer
  • Control and comply with Health and Safety

Travel will be required across cluster and wider MPS if selected.
