Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.
We are looking for committed and outstanding individuals who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.
This role is incredibly people-focused which involves interacting daily with travellers at Manchester Airport. Beneath those conversations is a critical responsibility: identifying individuals who could pose a threat to the UK or international security.
This role entails both working independently and as part of a team.
Ports Officer’s work with intelligence that ranges from comprehensive to very limited, so being able to adapt quickly is essential.
Behavioural Detection plays a crucial part in the proactive capability of the borders team, training is provided and those with pre-existing behavioural detection skills or proactive capabilities are desired.
Good communication and report-writing skills are vital, as every interaction could feed into a wider intelligence picture and Ports officers liaise with numerous partner agencies within the Police, Intelligence Services and Military.
Comprehensive training is provided to support your ongoing development.

Police Staff are required to relinquish their substantive post if the secondment duration is expected to be over one year.
