PIP2 Police Staff Investigator, Internet Child Exploitation Team
Hours: Part Time, 2 days a week, 0800-1600 with requirement for early starts due to warrant execution. Days are negotiable for successful applicant.
Main Purpose of Role
ICE will be accepting applications for a Police Staff Investigator to work alongside current Constables. There is a requirement for the applicant to have PIP2 accreditation.
The role of ICE is to react to incoming intelligence received, take appropriate enforcement action and investigate cases of possessing and or making indecent images of children.
Key Skills & Experience Required
The ability to obtain and execute warrants relating to suspected locations involved with indecent images of children. Provide support to the enforcement teams in carrying out searches and ensuring that exhibits, including electronic devices, are secured and seized to ensure effective evidential management and integrity.
The ability to Conduct thorough PIP 2 level investigations, interview witnesses and suspects, in accordance with PIP 2 standards, and gather all required evidence and information within the criminal law and the legal framework to help bring offenders to justice and safeguard victims.
Be prepared to review and grade indecent images of children retrieved during investigations in line with training and national standards.
The ability to consider and safeguard suspects welfare throughout the investigation, signposting to support agencies and organisations as appropriate. Officers will be expected at times to provide support to the families of suspects arrested on enforcements to ensure their welfare needs are met at scene and any child protection matters are also addressed by conducting the Voice of a Child and submission of PPN’s.
An interest and understanding in digital media and investigation.
