We are seeking a Data and Information Privacy Manager to join our dedicated team. This is a high-impact critical role that isn’t just about data protection compliance, it is a role that can influence how we protect people and the data and information we handle.

Things you will do:

  • Lead a team of specialists to ensure compliance and continually improve the quality, protection, security, accessibility and integrity of data, information, and records.
  • Undertake the statutory role of Data Protection Officer, supporting the legal and responsible use of personal data.
  • Respond to security breaches, providing advice to contain and minimise risk.  
  • Advise senior leadership and engage with regulators like the Information Commissioner
  • Provide advice on data processing activities and ensure the provision of timely responses when individuals exercise their information rights.
  • Work closely with a wide range of colleagues and third parties to enable the safe and responsible use of technology.

What We’re Looking For:

 .

  • Proven leadership and management skills, you will inspire commitment from staff and officers at all levels.
  • Experience in data protection legislation, preferably law enforcement.
  • Experience of responding to breaches of security including risk mitigation.
  • A confident decision maker, excellent communicator, collaborator and influencer.
  • A problem solver with the ability to untangle complex challenges and identify solutions.

Development Opportunity

If you are interested in this role but feel your skills and experience don’t entirely meet the full essential criteria of the role, we would still love to hear from you. We will consider a development opportunity which would support you to build and strengthen your skills and knowledge aiming to reach the base standard of the Person Specification within 12-18 months. The starting salary will depend on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
