The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesSussex Police is using analytics to improve the way we police, both in terms of operational effectiveness and organisational efficiency. Our aim is to put the best possible information into the hands of frontline officers to save them time, help them target resources and make better informed decisions to keep the public safe.
Corporate Development Department (CDD) are delivering advanced insight into the extensive and complex data held by Sussex Police using Fabric.
We are looking for a 3rd Developer to join the team to help design and maintain Microsoft Fabric Artefacts including Power BI Dataflow, Semantic Models, Reports, Azure Data Factory Pipelines and various Synapse tools to bring data into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and/or Data Warehouse and seek to continuously improve the products and services delivered to Chief Officers and Frontline teams.
The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for transforming data from a variety of different sources into Microsoft Fabric Artefacts.
Key Responsibilities

Integrate, transform, and consolidate batch data at scale into analytics solutions, from raw to curated.

Be part of a team who act as single point of contact for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI service delivery and improvement
- To use statistical methodology to help derive strategic insights from organisational data.
- Consulting upon, designing, creating and maintaining Power BI semantic models and reports which support all aspects of operational policing and corporate assurance.
- Provide technical expertise on Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Oracle and SQL development for the force - supporting colleagues in the delivery of their work and managing the technical requirements of development work.
- Define and maintain the architectural standards, frameworks and processes required to build and expose data with reusable semantic models in Power BI.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post.
- A degree in computing, statistics, mathematics, or a statistically related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Strong data modelling background with experience working with multiple data sources in Fabric.
- Industry experience in delivering Power BI/Microsoft Analytics solutions, with a good grounding in all associated areas including governance.
- Experience in building dashboards, reports, using SQ, DAX, Power BI, or other visualization tools.
- Experience in gathering BI requirements and understanding businesses at different levels.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and presentational skills to influence internal stakeholders.
- Ability to self-manage and work in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities, negotiate solutions, and resolve problems with colleagues and customers.
- A flexible and responsive approach to meeting work demands.
