Forensic Assistant
Identification Bureau

1 x Permanent post (37 hours)
Salary: £24,222.00 - £25,626.00 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a vital role in a unique team supporting Identification Officers and Senior Staff based at the RSSS Identification Bureau, Calder Park Wakefield.

As part of a dynamic team you will provide comprehensive administrative support to Identification Bureau staff in the receipt and processing of evidential submissions and other departmental work ensuring compliance with the department and force policies.
Main Duties are:
• Receipt and return of Forensic Exhibits.
• Updating of RSSS Forensic Case Management systems.
• The management of hardcopy and electronic case files.
• Searching Regional Force Crime Systems, to identify possible suspects.
• Liaising with other regional and national stakeholders with intelligence and case results.
• Assist in the maintenance of ISO 17025:2017 accreditation.
• Administration of Disclosure and Barring Service applications.
• The requisition of stationery and supplies.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential skills:
• Previous experience of working in an office environment.
• Has basic knowledge of and is able to use computer packages such as Microsoft Office
• Has a good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
This post is Monday to Friday, working under a flexi time scheme, subject to current service level agreement, covering Identification Bureau core office hours 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday.
