Salary: Band 7-9, £31,548 - £47,712  

Location: Agile, Ponteland Police Station and homeworking 

Hours/Contract: 37 hours per week, permanent

The role  

Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Digital Department as an Endpoint Management Engineer. 

As an Endpoint Management Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-performing, cost-effective, and resilient Endpoint Management service. This includes maintaining, developing, and securing Endpoint Management systems, clients, and virtual desktops across the entire force estate, while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. 

What you’ll do 

  • Support the delivery and 2nd/3rd line support of Endpoint management and VDI (VMWare) services.
  • Deliver Incident and Problem management, identifying issues and ensuring system performance meets SLAs.
  • Evaluate and implement efficiency improvements in the Endpoint Management estate.
  • Follow standards for creating, configuring, and testing new builds and OS deployments, ensuring compliance with security and service standards.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Endpoint Management environments, including software reviews, security patches, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to manage Active Directory and Group Policy for device security and standardisation.

What you’ll bring 

  • Qualifications and Experience: Degree or equivalent experience, with a background in 2nd/3rd Line endpoint management support or similar roles. Skilled in Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Windows Server, M365, VDI (VMWare), application packaging and scripting, Windows 10/11 administration, patch management, product lifecycles, ITIL-aligned ITSM tools, and Microsoft cloud services (Intune, Entra ID, Autopilot, M365, Defender for Endpoint). Experience in managing suppliers to achieve contracted service levels.
  • Technical and Soft Skills: Proficient in administering and supporting Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Windows Server, M365, VDI (VMWare), application packaging and scripting, Windows 10/11 administration, patch management, product lifecycles, ITIL-aligned ITSM tools, and Microsoft cloud services (Intune, Entra ID, Autopilot, M365, Defender for Endpoint). Goal-oriented, able to prioritize based on business needs, with strong planning, administrative, and organizational skills.

Terms of appointment  

This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
