Cumbria Constabulary is recruiting a full-time permanent Crime Scene Investigator Team Leader (TL) based in Barrow and from time-to-time will be required to cover the whole county in connection with the CSI TL duties stated in the role profile.

Applications are invited from experienced CSI first line managers, Crime Scene Managers (CSMs) and also trainee CSMs with considerable CSI experience. Should the successful candidate not hold a College of Policing accredited CSM qualification, they must commit to attending an accredited CSM training course and completing the CSM Development Plan within the first two years.

The CSI TL will be required to cover weekend working, out of hours standby duties and extended shifts from time to time. The successful candidate will be expected to provide biometric data for the purposes of elimination and will also be subject to the enhanced Management Vetting (MV).

As a CSI TL, you will be expected to have a wide range of knowledge and skills, be conversant with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Statutory Code and associated documents; and demonstrate extensive experience in the examination of a wide range of volume, serious and major crime scenes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has excellent communication skills, individual resilience and the ability to critically evaluate complex information.

The successful candidate must have a high standard of report writing, excellent communication skills across a wide range of people and be confident working within a Quality Management environment.

This a is a key leadership role in the CSI department and the post holder is expected to inspire and motivate their team to achieve compliance with ISO standards and attain high levels of performance across all activities.
