Force Armourer
Salary up to £39,929 plus a generous benefits package

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. As Constabulary Armourer you will work with a team of Armourers based at our outstanding training facility. You'll play your part by making sure that all of the Constabulary weapons, ammunition, and ancillary equipment are well-maintained, serviced and closely controlled. This is key to ensure our front-line Officers have everything they need to deliver our Mission 24/7.
Your role will involve:- Handling the storage and control of the assets at Training Units and operationally, including the transportation of these to other sites around the UK.
- Building links and collaborating with internal and external teams, including all our operational policing units and external Police armourers and suppliers. We will support you to continually develop your own knowledge enabling our teams to be at their best.
- Sound knowledge and experience of a wide variety of firearms and weapons systems and their functions, with knowledge of ammunition, parts, constructions, and specifications.
- Understanding of Firearms Inspection Standards and current Firearms legislation. Able to inspect, repair, and maintain weapons and associated equipment and be a capable and confident user of hand and power tools.
- Valid UK driving license- overnight stays and travel will be required to our sites spread throughout the UK.
- Demonstrate experience of inspecting, repairing and maintaining weapons and equipment. This should include the ability to keep accurate records and documentation of such activity.
- Full UK Driving License- Frequent travel to other sites will be required. Over night stays will be arranged by the CNC.
- 27.5 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Additional 30 minutes time worked during the week to accrue additional leave, which can be used for period between Christmas and New Year
- Generous pension scheme (20.7% employer contribution). For this position this means the employer contribution will be £7,068.22 minimum per year)
