Regional Organised Crime Unit Network Communications Lead - FTC/ Secondment opportunity ending March 2026
An opportunity has arisen for a key role in coordinating communications for the Regional Organised Crime Unit network. There are nine ROCUs across the UK which were created to manage the cross-border serious and organised crime (SOC) threat where traditionally forces were hampered by offenders crossing territorial boundaries.
The ROCU network works closely with the National Crime Agency, police forces and other partners, using a range of specialist tactics and capabilities to identify, disrupt and tackle the increasingly complex threat posed by organised crime.
This role will be responsible for building relationships with the communications teams within each ROCU to ensure consistent messaging and approach in line with wider national strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will already have an understanding of the ROCU network and have a strong background in police communications, particularly with regard to internal and strategic communications and evaluation.
This is a fixed term role initially to 31 March 2026 and is open to secondments or a career development opportunity. The successful candidate will require full support for release from their line management.
An understanding of media law is essential.
