Location: Head Office in Northallerton, with hybrid working arrangements including home working. We also have sites across North Yorkshire including York and Harrogate. There will be an expectation to be onsite at least twice a week.

Working hours: Mon to Thurs 8.30am - 5pm and Fri 8.30am - 4.30pm

We are currently recruiting a Recruitment & Retention Coordinator to join our HR Team! This is a brand new role and a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced in-house HR team providing services to North Yorkshire Police (NYP), North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (NYFRS) and York and North Yorkshire Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC).

As a Recruitment & Retention Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our recruitment strategies and workforce plans. This will include attracting, engaging, recruiting and retaining top talent across NYP & NYFRS, specifically in relation to promotion boards and specialist, high potential initiatives & entry routes.

We are therefore seeking proactive and organised individuals, with drive and motivation who are passionate about delivering the best possible results.

Typical Duties will include:

·       Planning and coordinating Police officer and Firefighter promotion schedules

·       Coordinating high potential initiatives such as Direct Entry & Fast Track

·       Supporting with various entry routes including Apprenticeship programmes, Graduation Schemes and Work Experience

·       Organisation and hosting recruitment workshops, offering support and guidance to prospective applicants

·       Coordinating promotional exams

·       Supporting with key retention activity

We're seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:

·       Excellent organisation and coordination skills with the ability to prioritise, use initiative and multitask.

·       A proactive self-starter who is confident liaising with key stakeholders and applicants.

·       Previous experience in recruitment and HR is essential. 

·       A passion for upholding an excellent team reputation and a professional and positive outlook towards work
