Additional Information:

College staff are classed as Public Servants and we are not eligible to participate in the Civil Service transfer process, therefore while successful candidates can transfer in on their existing terms and conditions, any subsequent transfer out of the College to the Civil Service cannot be guaranteed on existing terms and conditions and new starter/modernised terms may apply.

Our vetting

If you are successful at interview, you will be required to undertake pre-employment security checks. You will be sent a security questionnaire which must be accessed within 24 hours.

Job description

We look forward to reading your application for the role of Licensing and Development Manager.

The selected candidate will be a customer facing licensing representative for the College, with the main responsibility of overseeing and ensuring that Home Office police forces and other licensees, comply with their obligations to pay the College royalty fees and for increasing revenue generated from licencing. The role involves monitoring forces’ delivery of licensed College products to wider markets, conducting audits and providing support and guidance to licensees to help ensure that the integrity of College products and the College brand is maintained or enhanced. The post holder also has responsibility for considering how the College’s intellectual assets can be leveraged to generate additional income from home office forces, wider markets, international regions, facilitate technological collaboration, innovation and/or knowledge transfer.

Person specification

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain supportive business-focused relationships with Home Office police forces and other licensees to ensure that their delivery of the College’s licensed products to wider audiences is approved by the College and where the force/licensee applies a charge, the College receives the appropriate royalty fee.
  • Develop and implement a compliance monitoring programme of licensees that can help the College accurately forecast income from royalties and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide support to licensees and act as a main point of contact for licensees wishing to deliver the College’s licensed products to wider markets.

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification or appropriate business experience.
  • Proven experience in levering intellectual property to generate income, facilitate technological collaboration, innovation or knowledge transfer.
  • Knowledge of UK policing licensed products, legal requirements and current legislations.
