Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Police Constable to join the CT Border Operations Centre (CTBOC) team, based at the Counter Terrorism Operations Centre (CTOC).
The CT Border Operations Centre (CTBOC) is part of Counter Terrorism Policing Head Quarters (CTPHQ). CTBOC provides national direction and oversight of the overarching strategy for UK CT Border Policing through a network of Regional Senior Ports Officers (RSPOs) and Regional Ports Coordinators (RPCs). Teams working within CTBOC have responsibility for developing national policies, producing operational guidance, coordination of national operations and delivering national projects, including the implementation of new technologies.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of these key functions. As well as working closely with all Police Services within the UK, this role involves close collaboration with key external partners including the Security Services, Home Office, UK Border Force and the NCA.
Vetting and STRAP
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Applications from candidates with close connections to certain countries may take considerably longer to process, or in some cases result in a withdrawal of an offer of employment. Further details will be provided at the conditional offer stage.
All appointments are subject to the post holder satisfying the highest levels of security clearance at the time of appointment and for the duration of the secondment agreement. Failure to achieve such clearance or removal of such clearance will result in termination of the secondment agreement and the post holder will be returned to their Home Force/Home Organisation. This does not affect your statutory right.
Confidentiality Agreement
Applicants should also be aware of the need to sign a confidentiality agreement on taking up the post.
Additional Information
Accommodation requirements will be considered on an individual case by case basis and subject to consultation with the business manager. If accommodation is offered to Chief Insp rank and below it will be allocated as a shared residence. Accommodation will not be supported for those in the Home Counties.
Successful candidates may also be entitled to reasonable excess travel fares, this would be subject to prior consultation.
This secondment will be for a period of 2 years, extendable to 5 years subject to annual reviews and based in London although some UK travel will be required.
Rest Days
Specialist Operations has an expectation that officers will arrive into post with no more than 5 outstanding rest days as a maximum.
